Heerlijk, een lang weekend waarin niets moet! En voor het eerst sinds lange tijd weer zoveel rust in mijn hoofd dat ik mijn kant weer tevoorschijn heb gehaald. Eerst heb ik mijn materialen weer netjes gemaakt: oude garens van de klosjes, hier en daar een paar nieuwe kraaltjes aan m'n engelse klosjes, half afgemaakte kantjes van het kussen en toen was ik er helemaal klaar voor. Ik had een patroontje voor een boekenlegger gevonden bij Lace Resources International dat me wel erg geschikt leek om de draad (letterlijk) weer op te pakken. En dankzij het boekje van Brenda Paternoster, "Threads for Lace", hoefde ik niet eerst garens te bestellen, maar kon ik gelijk met mijn voorraadje DMC special dentelles 80 aan de slag. En ik moet zeggen, ik heb het nog niet verleerd! Inmiddels is de boekenlegger al weer half af, en ben ik al aan het uitkijken naar een volgend patroontje.

Wonderful, a long weekend with nothing planned! And for the first time in a long time enough peace in my mind for me to take out my lace again. First I have tidied up my materials: old threads from the bobbins, here and there a few new beads tied to my British bobbins, removed half made laces from the pillow and then I was ready.
I had found a pattern for a bookmark at bij Lace Resources International
that looked like it was suitable to refresh my lace-technique. And thanks to the book "Threads for Lace" by Brenda Paternoster, I didn’t need to order threads first, but I could start immediately with my stock of DMC special dentelles 80. And I must say, I haven’t completely lost it! By now, the bookmark is already halfway done, and already I’ve started looking for the next pattern.
